  1. That sucks, no chats with band members or anything?

Bumble jumped on the chat once or twice but that was about it.

I am a Metallica Metclub member and it is great. Exclusive video, audio, clothing, monthly magazine, meet and greet lottery. I thought GN'R may have wanted to at least match what they do but....

As I've said, if GN'R and Ground Ctrl pick up their game and actually put some effort into the fan club then I will gladly renew my membership.

  2. Was there any benefit to it at all?

Nothing at all. The presales are just as accessible through the ticket vendors and all the "exclusive" photos were plastered all over facebook by Kat. So, over all it was fucked.

  3. Well, my membership for the official GN'R fanclub has expired. I want to apologise to all of you who warned us about how fucking terrible it is. I should have listened.

The absolute worst run fanclub I have ever seen.

I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars on Guns N' Roses over the years without ever thinking about it, but I will not waste another cent on that fanclub unless dome drastic changes are made.

Once again, I should have listened to all of you who warned us about it.

    Here's to the March tour!

  4. Why the fuck does anything need to be in Newcastle? Who gives a fuck about them

    Where are you from?

I'm from Melbourne. If you're from Newcastle I didn't mean to shit on you  But like why the fuck can't bands just tour capital cities? so much easier and it looks better too compared to half filled venues in areas that aren't exactly smack bang in the middle of the main cities. I mean no one comes to Victoria and would tour Geelong or whatever. Just streamline it and get the crowds along if they care enough instead of embarrassing yourselves with half filled venues.

Kiss and Motley hasn't been a huge seller either.

They've practically sold out night #1 at Allphones arena, night 2 is selling pretty slow admittedly, but it is around a 18,000 seat arena. They sold out Brisbane entertainment centre and have now added extra restricted view seats. They added a second show in Melbourne. They have sold out all meet and greets in every city going for $1500 a pop.

Springsteen has sold out 2-3 shows in each city around the country.

You're right, people can't go to everything, but If people want to see a band like GNR, they will make it happen.

The tour is selling poorly, I think mainly from the terrible press guns have received the past few tours (late start times, people saying it was a sh*tty coverband, allegations of lip synching in Townsville or Mackay, wherever it was, resulting in mass walkout of fans).

At any rate I don't think it's right to try and make excuses and blame the time frame they are touring or saying that no one else is selling out but a festival at the moment. It's just simply not true.

This. 100% man a lot of folks know this isn't the real Guns and no one cares. For an alternative well balanced forum in Australia check this out for opinion.

Alternatively there's a perfect album thread on there and Guns are mentioned stacks of times by posters. Go figure.

    All is forgiven. Haha

You've got a pretty good point there. We were once a very musically orientated town. The Screaming Jets, Silverchair. Both local talent and massive bands. Metallica sold out here back in 1998, Pink played something like 4 or 5 nights at the NEC to sold out crowds a few years ago. But I remember back in 2001 when Pantera announced their Aus tour, Newcastle was on the schedule but was soon cancelled to poor ticket sales which was odd for then in Newcastle. They'd played here every 2 years or so prior to that tour and it was always successful.. So it's a bit of a gamble playing here. We Novacastrians are a weird mob. Haha

  5. Every tour we like to wish for new material to be played so the Australian tour is no exception.

Post your Dream Setlist for the Aus tour but be realistic.

With the size if this setlist we will be looking at a new record for longest show. haha

  6. Since The Angels have been forced to cancel due to Doc Neeson's unfortunate illness, I'd love to see GN'R cover an Angels song in Australia.

We carried on until we got Estranged. We carried on until we got Civil War. Maybe if we carry on enough Guns N' Roses might bust out with a classic Angels tune like Face the day, Mr Damage, Shadow Boxer, Dogs are Talking or Am I ever gonna see your face again?

I'd love to hear my favourite band cover my all time favourite Australian band.

  7. Doesn't anyone think it's strange/interesting/revealing that the rasp which we all revere so much has never been put on record. Does that not tell us something?

Appettite/ UYI/ CD has a clean sounding Axl voice.

To state the obvious, if the rasp was/is something Axl is trying to achieve do you not think that voice might have made an appearance on an album at some point?

    Are you retarded or what???

    This

  8. In fairness, BBF did call some dude out and asked him to come up so he could kick his ass. The dude made no move to take him up on his offer. His Tweet was obviously in jest. Try not to be so fucking retarded.

    Perfect.

    This is pretty funny.

I remember Pantera got into a bit of trouble for doing something like this back in the early 90's. Phil got the crowd to bash some kid who was spitting at the stage. They wrote the song "5 Minutes Alone" about it.

Pantera overreacted. There is no real threat of someone doing any real harm to bands on stage. They need to lighten up.

No real threat of someone doing any real harm to bands on stage??? Tell that to Vinnie Paul of Pantera who watched his brother get executed while performing on stage.
