Good lookin' out. I'm waiting for the price to drop below $150 for the CD Super Deluxe. I really want the vinyl version but won't pay more than $200.

Check out Keepa.com and add an alert for the GNR Boxes. Keepa monitors Amazon for price fluctuations.

Keepa sent me an email early this morning informing me of the price change.

Keepa.com has saved me a lot of money over the last several years.

For sure. You have 30 days free return on all purchases at least over here...

I thought about it for a minute. If I bought 3 more UYI boxes they would cost $146 each after taxes as part of the Buy 2 Get 1 deal.  A savings of $74 per box. However, I do not need 3 more UYI SDE boxes. I haven't even had time to open the box I bought on release date. I can see the UYI SDE CD box being liquidated at $100 each in 2023.  I have reminded myself that I bought the box on release date to show my support for archival releases of live material.

  3. The UYI Super Deluxe Box set is now part of Amazon's current Buy 2 Get 1 Free promotion in the USA. You could buy 2 and get 1 free, if you're into collecting. As a release date buyer, this stings.

Perhaps, I should take advantage of Amazon's liberal return policy?

Update: The buy 2 get 1 deal for the UYI Super Deluxe Edition has ended.

I would not be surprised if multiple resellers took advantage of the deal.

  4. ImportCDs.com has the UYI CD Super Deluxe Edition on sale for $190 plus $9 shipping (and local taxes). They are also having their bi-annual 10% off sale if you use the promo code TENOFF.

This means you could get the UYI CD SDE box for $180.51 shipped plus your local state sales tax.
I should state that I have ordered from ImportCDs.com many times since 2012 and haven't had any issues.
However, their customer support department is hard to get in touch with, which could cause issues if you need to return something.

NOTE: The TENOFF discount code expires on November 22nd at Midnight Central Standard Time.
ImportCDs.com does ship internationally, buyer pays shipping.

I hope this information helps those on the fence make a decision regarding the UYI SDE box.

That interview confirms that they had Wembley, Paris, and RIR ready to go also. Wish they had just released the full shows.

The marketing efforts will continue on into the upcoming weeks including a microsite for fans to get into sharing their memories, from getting these albums originally to experiencing the tour and also the reissues.

    That sounds cool too.

Hopefully, we will get Rock In Rio, Wembley '91, and Paris '92 released on CD/BD/DVD in the near future. This band loves money, almost as much as KISS, so it's possible.
I also hope we get a 4K release of Ritz '91 at some point. After the UYI box goes out of print, releasing a 2-disc Blu-Ray and 4K UHD Blu-Ray Ritz '91 package seems logical.

    It's completely insane, yeah.

Is it true that many democrats from California etc are moving to Texas? Things like the crazy gun laws probably won't change until the demographics change enough.

Yes that is true. However, there are many backwards rural areas in Texas. The people that live in these areas are the voters that Abbot and the Republicans target.

The major cities (Dallas/Houston/San Antonio/Austin) always lean Democratic in elections.

Unfortunately, we are always outnumbered by rural residents in elections.

Who knows if things in Texas will ever change?

Some people are too dumb to realize that they are voting against their best interests...

  7. I am a Texan too and am absolutely disgusted in the stranglehold that Abbot and the Republicans have on our state.

We had an opportunity to vote these criminals out last week, but did that happen? NOOOO! :vomit:

Of course not. Texas is a nice place to be, but it would be a much better place to live with competent/non-corrupt leadership.

My mom taught in the Texas public school system for over 20 years and retired in 2010.

I am thankful she doesn't have to deal with this Abbot induced bullshit!!:hahafyou:

Perhaps we’ll see a record store day release in the future

An RSD release would be too limited. It would leave many fans short changed and/or buying from gougers on eBay. I am hoping Paris 92 will be released as a 2CD/BD package in the not too distant future. I also hope for official CD releases of Wembley '91 and Rio '91 (both nights).  If the pro-shot video for the '91 shows is in good shape, release that too! Many serious fans of the "1987-1993 Golden Era" will buy any official live recordings from this period.

I get your overall point, but GN'R / TB are absolutely not going to release more things like this just because the fans bought it. The fan supported GN'R through very, VERY quiet periods when no one cared about them outside of the die hard fan base. All of that support led to absolutely no releases from the band.

My take on it is: if you feel like there's enough in the set to justify spending $200, great. If not, that's great too. However, I don't think a bunch of fans buying this set will lead to more releases from GN'R. At the very least, I don't think anyone should spend money thinking that the end game is that GN'R will care to release more.

I understand where you are coming from. I know that the UYI Super Deluxe Edition is ridiculously expensive, and not in every fan's budget. However, I'd like to suggest to my fellow fans, that instead of spending $200-$300 on a single GNR ticket to see the same OLD show, buy the UYI SDE box instead. It is a far superior value!

I do hope that the UYI SDE sells well enough to encourage GNR/TB to release Paris '92/Wembley '91/Rio '91 officially at some point in the near future. Surely, all of the audio from those gigs were completely remixed for possible inclusion on the UYI 2CD sets. An official Paris '92 Blu-Ray/2CD package would be nice to have, as would something similar for the Rock In Rio '91 and Wembley '91 gigs.

  10. My UYI SDE CD box arrived a little while ago. It looks so nice sealed. However, I am eager to get into the set and have a look at the book and watch the Ritz BD! Does anyone have advice on safely opening the box for the 1st time? I don't want to damage anything. I should state that the promo sticker on the front states that the Super Deluxe Edition is "Limited Edition". I wonder if Universal learned their lesson with the AFD box and decided to produce fewer UYI Super Deluxe Edition sets?

Atleast on Finnish dealers website it states so. And its also common sense that the boxset is limited edition. Theyre not going to keep printing the hardcover book etc forever.

The AFD Super Deluxe Edition set is available for $50 USD on the GNRMerch site right now. https://gnrmerch.com/collections/box-sets/products/appetite-for-destruction-super-deluxe-edition
How limited could these boxes really be? The stress of holding out for a deal on the UYI SDE CD box takes the fun out of it, when Amazon could deliver it to me tomorrow for $220 shipped.:headbang::facepalm:

I would love to buy the blu ray but in this world economic situation when my food, gas and electric bills are sky high I just cant afford it. And one thing that bothers me it says that these are limited edition Box sets so how tf am I going to see the blu ray?? Need separate release or torrential rain !

Where was it mentioned that the UYI Super Deluxe Edition box is a limited edition release? I am holding out for a deal, but if it makes sense, I'll just buy one from Amazon right now. Amazon USA has open returns until January 31, 2023 for holiday purchases. If the price drops, just buy another one from Amazon and send it back to get the higher price refunded lol.

  13. I want to make everyone aware that the UYI Cash Grab box sets are already being discounted in the USA, 6 weeks before release. I predict the 7CD+BD box will be around $190-$200 in the USA on release date. The lesson here is, DO NOT pay full price for this rip off release!!! Be smart and wait 6 months (or less), and get the CD Super Deluxe Edition for under $100.

DeepDiscount.com is a sister company of Pop Market and they too have the UYI boxes on sale at a "Deep Discount". I have purchased many CDs/DVDs/BDs from DD since 2002 and have only had a few issues with them over the years. The UYI SDE CD box will very likely be under $200 at Deepdiscount.com on release date. Also, DD ships internationally, although the buyer pays shipping. You can also use the code DEEP10 to get 10% off. DD also has 15% off coupon codes every other week.

Locomotive was only played a few times in total, and none of those shows are represented in any of the releases.

IIRC, Breakdown was never performed live so there was zero chance of that. Not even sure GoE was ever performed live during that era either.

Breakdown was performed live in December of 1991 and Garden Of Eden was performed in Austin, TX on February 23, 1993. I was at the Austin show and almost shit an X-Mas tree when Garden Of Eden was performed INSTEAD of Mr. Brownstone. THOSE were THE DAYS to be a GNR fan! In 2022, not so much...
