  1. One of my favorite Scott Weiland songs. I always interpreted it as a song about him quitting drugs or at least attempting to. Now the chorus of "And I'm moving on" takes on a whole new meaning and sounds more chilling, sad and emotional than ever.

Was lucky enough to see STP twice back in the day and Velvet Revolver 8 times I believe.. Hell of a front man.. Very sad news this morning. RIP

  2. I don't think it is exaggerated. It was one thing to do it back in the day but not now.. I don't even know if he still does.. I stopped really following him shortly after the new line up came out. Didn't he not show up for the first and last show of the first CD tour causing riots? I know I was at the Boston show in 2002 and he didn't come out until 11:30 pm on a Monday night. That sucked... They shut the beer off at like 9 and everyone sat around with their thumbs in their asses for almost 3 hours waiting... If they waited at all. It is one thing at a club or something where the drinks are flowing all night but not at an Arena... So yeah I think his reputation was earned.. This was a pattern that started back in the day and almost all his past band mates have commented on it at one point or another. It isn't likely that they were all making up stories.

  3. I hope the whole thing bombs.

your posts are becoming very boring. this reunion is the best thing in the last 20 years.

its just 10 years too late for that...they could have rule the world back then....

It all depends on Axl.. If he comes out looking and sounding like he did the last few years, forget it. But maybe he is getting in shape and going to come out sounding good. I just started watching vids from 2010 and he sounded pretty good then.
Axl looked and sounded great last year! He will be awesome when we see him perform again regardless. If who is up there on the stage with him.

haha you think?? He sounded terrible in every video I saw.. And he looked out of shape and awkward on stage... The whole thing will fall flat if it is just Axl Slash and Duff and Axl comes out looking and singing like he did at that VH1 awards show or any other show he has done the last few years.. I think if there were more of the original line-up it would be easier to look past that.

  5. The vibe I'm getting from the board today is that we now believe even less.

I still billieve. I will until officially told otherwise. To quote the great dizzy reed "with gnr, timelines don't really apply. Things will come out when they're ready".

And they will.. When they're ready.

You lost me (and all credibility) at "great dizzy reed".

Dizzy is a part of the band and has been since 1990. He will always be there. Good musician and helps with sound. He's a part of the band and they need him.

He will always be there and may be a musician but I don't know how he helps with the sounds. 99% of Guns tunes don't need keyboards and sound better without them. Nothing worse than keyboards during Nightrain... Even Knockin On Heavens Door was better in the early days before all the keyboards.. Axl can play piano on November Rain..

  6. im very unstoked with this projected lineup which seems like the most likely scenario

    1) fortus and ferrrer bring down the entire legacy of GNR making it half ass

    2) duff is already considered in so no biggie + slash ok, well

no izzy, no adler or matt is just a major fucking let down

this version of a reunion will fucking suck, its just a nuGNR version 5.2 not even worth doing it

I agree with most of this but I wouldn't say it isn't worth doing.. It wouldn't really feel like a Guns N' Roses reunion.. More like Guns N' Roses Lite... Having Izzy or Steven in there would make it seem more legit to me.. Even if it was just one of them. Or even Gilby to a lesser extent...

  7. I agree with this.

I dont think Izzy is as important to the live performance as people make out.

He has almost zero stage precense for me... i like the guy, and everything hes contributed to GNR cannot be underestimated.. but in terms of a live gig.. he isnt the deal breaker for me.

His guitars were never turned up that high, at post-1988. While it would be ideal, to have the guy who contributed so much to GNR be included, I could live with Richard or Gilby on second guitar duties. Same with Ferrer instead of Adler - especially if Adler is too unreliable of a person to take on tour. Although I would love for Sorum to be included

    its not about stage presence

(by the way izzy has a great stage presence, only a fool would say he doesnt have stage presence)

its is about how he plays the guitar

its about the music that comes out of his guitar

of course that you and some people may not care about that

but a lot of us do

But is it really deal breaking for you? Would you not go or take interest if Izzy weren't there? I know plenty of people who didn't take interest when Slash wasn't there. Would Izzy have that same effect? I'm not so sure.

No it isn't a deal breaker but it also isn't nearly as special or cool. For me it would be the difference between just catching a local show if they came this way or going out of my way to see as many shows as possible.. It needs more than Just Axl, Slash and Duff.. This needs Izzy or Steven in there.. Or even Gilby..

Axl/Slash/Duff/Richard/Frank/Dizzy............... Just doesn't look or feel right to me..

Oh yeah, and I think Izzy Stradlin's stage presence is pretty f'n bad ass...

  8. I'd rather not get the reunion if it goes the Black Sabbathian way. The definition of disappointment. But if works it works and I'll start worship like the olden days.

I totally disagree. Black Sabbath made a really really GREAT album and the show I attended was incredibly good.

If there's ever a GNR reunion I hope they will be as successful as Sabbath.

Agreed, I thought "13" was awesome.. And it was #1 in how many countries? The show I caught that tour was also phenomenal.

Honestly, the shows will only be 3% less enjoyable of Izzy isn't there

    Speak for yourself..
