I think  the main reason management booked stadium tour instead of arena is cause you gotta say ' it's a big comeback, Guns are headlining stadiums again'... that's what it is all about... It wouldn't appear so monumental in press if they decided to play arenas... And I think it's better this way... just look at Coldplay light shows enormous production..of course it's gonna attract mass of people even those who are not fans...

Another thought... wouldn't it be awesome if GnR decided to film a live concert film on the stadium that sells the most? It would be awesome to bring out Steven for AFD songs and Izzy... Imagine seeing 70000 - 80000 crowd erupting on the Jungle opening... sick that would be..

Hopefully they can release a DVD like the AC/DC one! GN'R doesn't have something like that, except for the Tokyo '92 but that's now too old.

Lol. Axl doesn't like Mick Wall. So all of us must hate and bash him too.

Somebody needs to make a list so I know who I can like and dislike and who we can believe and not believe......based on whether or not Axl likes them. Or whether or not they have said something positive or negative about Axl.

    ******

And every forum has 3-4 people who claim to have inside contacts with the band. None of them know if is was true or not!

Yeah, it's hard to tell if Axl still holds those grudges from 30 years ago. But let's think he's not very fond of Mick Wall, the guy is a journalist and has quite a career. There is no way he doesn't have connections and sources in the industry. Axl can't control that, even if he wanted.

It's kinda cool to know Axl (or someone from the band) got the tour name by reading these forums. I remember someone posted about the "Not in this lifetime" tour name on these forums some time ago (or was it GNRTruth). I am pretty much sure they got the name from the forum(s).

I think it was here. Someone should bump that thread!

Yeah... I see a lot of respect, support and even affection in those lines He wrote. As any total fan would do.

    That's funny to me too...

But when he starts to speculate ... pushing the Steven's angle into the story... I remember why he was slammed in the first place.

What's so bad about the Steven thing? He said he heard something. He may have his sources, we don't know that.

The Steven-gate is really weird at this point, dont you think?

Maybe that's the case. But that won't change my opinion that his performance on those songs is mediocre. Classic parts should be honored and played correctly. I'll leave it at that.

I know and it's ok because it is your opinion. Other people think it's innovative and refreshing to a 30 years old song.

Comparing how Slash plays Better and how Frank plays Brownstone and Rocket Queen is a terrible example. The opening drum parts to both Brownstone and Rocket Queen are instantly recognizable and they set the tone for the song. Those are highly regarded, classic songs, and anybody who has heard them can instantly recognize that what Frank plays isn't correct. Better is not a highly regarded, classic song and the guitar part doesn't set the tone like how the drums do on Brownstone and Rocket Queen. Matt Sorum played both correctly during the UYI tour, so why can't Frank? They aren't that hard

Its not a terrible example because I'm talking about how a musician will do their own interpretation of the music. Do you really think a millionaire band like this would have a drummer who doesn't know how to play their songs?

If he's doing it that way it is because he's allowed to do it that way and if he's still playing it that way, even with Slash and Duff there, then he's being enabled for such thing. You think Slash and Duff wouldn't remark the so-called mistake, if that was the case?

I think they are modernizing their sound and playing songs exactly the same as the album is not cool for a show.

Personnally I would like toto see him lower the register and sing more in chest voice where he has phenomenal control. It is too bad so many non-fans dismiss his voice because all they have heard is his trademark high pitched wail with rasp. He is quite possibly one of the most versatile rock singer we have.

    Totally agree with this!

Problem is most GN'R songs have those high pitched things

Not really sure what Izzy is up to but his social media presence being as it is and now in the wake of the reunion is rather weird. Feels as if he wanted to vent on something so why doesn't he do that? Or maybe he just wants to stir up shit by remembering himself to the fans so that everyone blames GN'R more for his absence? Or maybe he's just such a weirdo that he decided the reunion time is the best moment to start sharing his favourite songs on twitter... Have no idea. The guy is really weird.

I have the feeling Izzy is SUPER MAD at the rest of the band. It is unusual from Izzy that he started a Twitter account just when the reunion is about to roll. He definitely wants to piss them off. And I also feel like he's using the media attention GN'R are getting for his own benefit. Something like "ok, you left me out of this big thing, I will be use it on my favor now and become a bug in your ear."

I'm sure he wants to vent on something but GNR lawyers may be putting a foot on his head and that's why he can't say anything yet.

They are both very simple songs, so yes, I would expect them to be played like how Steven originally played it. There is a fine line between adding your own touch into a song and just flat out playing incorrectly, and Frank plays both of those opening drum parts incorrectly. I learned how to play those songs when I was about 12 years old, I would expect a professional, touring musician to be able to do the same.

I don't think he would dare to touch the classics on his own will. I'm pretty sure if he's playing the songs like that it is because someone has enabled him and that someone may probably be the very own Axl Rose.

Just like Slash is not playing Better the same exact way it was recorded in Chinese Democracy.
