The list should be primarily bands and artists that had a great album or song but completely vanished or imploded (Germs, Runaways), or were on the verge of a comeback and something tragic happened (Roy Orbison, John Lennon,), and artists who put one or two classics out but died way too early (Cobain, Buckley, Curtis).

Belly - 2 great albums, then the band broke up.

Tin Machine - always felt the timing was 3-4 years too early. Bowie had a hard time winning people over when it came out. People went expecting the hits, he gave them little to none. Now it would be accepted.

Velvet Underground reunion - we got one song out of it. One. Easily could've put differences aside and come up with some great music together.

The original Modern Lovers - the first album is great, would've been great to resurrect the band after the Cars and Talking Heads broke up with Richman. It's still possible.

Gram Parsons - would he be a big deal in country had he lived, or a footnote?

The Jeff Beck Group - Rod Stewart, Ron Wood, Jeff Beck - skipped Woodstock, Led Zep passed them by and went straight to the top. Left a bitter taste in Beck's mouth. Then Rod went solo...sort of. He had those Faces guys...

bauhaus - with a bigger budget, might have had some amazing recordings and a strong following. But I don't know if the type of music Love and Rockets did would've worked in bauhaus.

The Smiths - it might not seem like it now, but back then they were on the verge of success. Morrissey's done fine on his own in the 90s, but with Johnny Marr, would've been able to come up with some classics.

Roxy Music with Brian Eno - I think Eno needed to leave when he did, and you can now hear why that was so. But had he stayed with them into the mid 70s, would've had some interesting music.

Laura Nyro - 'retired' too early, she never recovered from it, even though she continued to record. Fell off the map.

The Runaways would've been an interesting reunion at the end of the 80s, when Joan and Lita were at their commercial peak, even if they had gone in different directions musically. Keep one or two of the old songs like "Cherry Bomb" but record enough new material to tour with.

James Carr, arguably the greatest voice in the history of Soul music, but his label had no money or songwriters when he was in his prime and he faded out after that.

Helloween - With Kai Hansen on vocals. This awesome great man is a great singer. While not as technically good as Kiske (who can literary do anything with his voice), the man was a far better frontman and has got a power in his voice that few can compare too.

Helloween - With Michael Kiske on vocals. One of the very best singers in the rock/metal ever. Made some great albums 20 years ago. That he stopped to think it was funny to play live was a tragedy for every fan of Helloween. The new singer is shit compared. Great that Kiske is back with Unisonic though.
