Vincent Vega
I've noticed things with certain artists...It seems they tend to create their best work when bearded.See for example Axl (wore a beard during '89 and '90 when the Illusions were written and recorded), Jim Morrison (from 1969-1971 were a beard, and some of the Doors best albums were released in that span), John Lennon (wore one from around 1968 to 1975 or so). RocketQueen1985
I doubt a beard has any relevance at all to how you make music. Many amazing artist never even had a beard. I will say Scott Weiland has done amazing work with the beard though.

AbominableHoman
Why don't we see more country music singers with beards?
Guest deleted_19765
Why don't we see more country music singers with beards? This is an extremely loaded question. In fact, it would make an excellent doctoral thesis. When Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, Hank Jr., and others (all bearded) brought the Outlaw revolution to Country, we were seeing beards on mainstream Country stars for the first time. This was of vast symbolic important to audiences, and in the 1970s many record buyers were known to avoid albums with bearded men on the covers. Lines were drawn. You could argue that the lack of beards on contemporary Country stars reflects the general trend towards conservatism going on in this nation (and especially in the Country audience), but the Outlaws are also reflected in other ways in Country today. Then again, those that come closest to Neo-Outlawism (ie. Eric Church, Jason Aldean, and Dierks Bentley) have been known to have something on their faces. Never full beards though, like in the '70s.
