Guest Sleeping Like An Angel
Is it just me or does anyone else cringe when women sing rock songs? It doesn't work with me at all. The best female singer in the world could sing a rock song and I won't like it.
GUNSNROSES513
Some can, some cant. The only woman voices I like are soul singers and the girl from the Dead Weather. Christina Aguilara and Susan Tedeschi are my favorite female singers.

Marj
Pink? (This is rather funny because the French word for "Pink" is "Rose"...)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ePly-jOkhE
JungleCat
Hate to say it but no. Other music sometimes but not rock. Even a great ballad sounds better when sung by a man.

Street_Of_Dreams
Yes, there are some great women-fronted or all women bands.Paramore springs to mind right away! (Just kidding)
Spoon87
Apart from the odd Amy Winehouse or Janis Joplin song or the link my man God's Favourite posted I really can't get into most music that is fronted by a female. I don't know, it isn't intentional but it just doesn't click with me.

P.A. Guns
Hmmm hard to say. I really don't like female singers, but there are a few I love.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb2dlQFN5-c&feature=player_embedded
mrandyk
Pink? (This is rather funny because the French word for "Pink" is "Rose"...)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ePly-jOkhEThe way that the title is spelled automatically makes it something besides rock. And no woman aside from Janis Joplin has ever impressed when trying to rock out.
AngelZ
imo Fergie pulls it off pretty well

Shuffle
yeah, of course. I usually prefer male singers when it comes to rock, but there's a whole bunch of really good female fronted bands.female vocalists in country, folk and soul is the shit though. especially when female-male duets in folk and country. They never seem to be as hard or heavy or as aggressive...at least the female singers I've heard, anyway.

RocketQueen1985
Courtney Love was one of the great rock singers back in the 90s. She had such a raw voice that was carried by emotion. Not as good since she actually tries to sing now. She's got a great scream. Joan Jett is one of the great women in rock. I think rock girls are hot. Wish there were more female fronted rock bands today.Courtney without a doubt.... Joan Two amazing rock women. Both amazing. Of course women can sing rock! WhazUp
Alison Mosshart of The Dead Weather is hot as hell. She is not only a great bluesy singer, she also has a lot of stage presense and knows how to put on a great show
dalsh327
Gretchen Wilson does a rock song or two. Shakira also does some rock. But there's also the bands where there's female band members. The last female fronted rock band that was playing arenas, was prob. Evanescence.
