SunnyDRE
Its ok. Some of the songs sound samey. Lacked any really uptempo numbers. Edited February 18, 2011 by SunnyDRE
liquidmetal
doesnt need any up tempo numbers at all. otherwise it'd get ruined. it's rich with melody and structure. Edited February 18, 2011 by liquidmetal
SunnyDRE
doesnt need any up tempo numbers at all. To me it does. I'm more a fan of her uptempo stuff (i.e. Stories from the City.., Uh-Huh Her). it's rich with melody and structure. Not really. Poor structuring and very vague...brooding, like To Bring You My Love. It's not bad, but it is hardly her best work.

JAC185
I've heard nothing but good things about PJ Harvey and this album seems pretty credible. But I am reluctant to start with it if it is questionable. Anyone give me a good starting album? Would be much appreciated.

liquidmetal
I think this is the best thing she's ever done. better than stories, and to bring you my love. Polly Harvey doesnt have a single bad album though. One of the most important female artists of all time. Up there with the likes of Kate Bush, Patti Smith etc. A true poet and songwriter, and the female equivalent of bowie, in terms of being a musical chameleon.fuck me, what a woman. ADPT
'Battleship Hill' is extraordinary. Mind you, the whole album is special. It's personal yet resounding.
