On a more positive note - got my tickets for the Rome gig in June! First Stones gig where I've managed to get tickets firsthand!

How much are the tickets for Rome?

I'm planning to see them in Rome or Austria (probably Rome)...

78 Euros, plus some fees. Got ours in the Amex presale, the tickets, fees, presale fee (12 Euros each FFS), and a combined 30 Euros shipping to the US came to like 220 Euros, or about USD $305. Cheapest Stones gig we've ever been to (And only one where we managed to get our tickets firsthand!). Rome is sold out now though.

Also these are the tickets for Rome, really cool:

He's on right before the Stones at the Dutch Pinkpop festival too. ;)

Pretty much confirms he'll guest with them, he did multiple times on the 50 & Counting tour. I know he did Respectable and Champagne & Reefer with them...anything else in 2012 and 2013?

Not sure what else, but this reminds me - will Mick Taylor be a regular guest at the European leg as well? I really hope so!

I read in a Dutch newspaper that someone said Bill Wyman might guest star too, but I think they might just be confusing him with Mick T. :P

Still though, having both Mick and Bill guest spot would be the dream...

Mick T is pretty much a semi regular member of the band right now so I am pretty confidant he will be at all future shows...............

So here we go.

The concert was in the Sands convention center which is across the road from the hotel and part of a huge mall containing upscale stores. The casino must have paid a pretty penny to the band as they set up an outdoor festival with two stages which were on either side of a huge screen that was to be used to simulcast the Stones concert live, to those who could not get tickets, in a big bayside courtyard behind the building. They had local bands rotating between the two stages so there was no downtime and the music was surprisingly good and sounded better with each beer I drank.

It was a sunny day and in the low 90's F (30C+) so I hung out at the festival for a couple of hours and drank several Hefe-Weissebier and ate a Wagyu beef sandwich, from one of the many amazing food stands, while watching the local talent play. Even if there was no Stones concert it was a great place to hang out and party.

Headed up to the ballroom about 7:30pm and found my cheap seats which considering there were only 5500 seats the view was not that bad.

I hung there for the first two songs but after a quick pit stop during "Doom and Gloom", to clear out all the Weissebier, I decided to try to do a self upgrade to the VIP section. The security people were busy bullshitting so I just walked past them like I belonged there and found myself right next to the end of the extended stage for the rest of the concert where I had a an excellent view of the main stage and I was only about 10 feet from Mick when he came down the runway

As far as the concert is concerned the band was really tight this night, full of energy and seemed to enjoy playing the small room. The setlist was pretty much a greatest hits show but the crowd was really into the music which the band fed off of to play a excellent show. They played just over 2 hours and highlights for me were "Gimme Shelter" and "Midnight Rambler" where Mick T ripped off effortless solos.......when he wasn't playing Mick T hung out backstage just to the right of Charlie's drum riser and I could see him playing air guitar at times so he was really fired up to play that night.

Had to get up at 3am to catch my flight home on Sunday but the concert was a great finish to my business trip. Have to say I really enjoyed my short stay in Singapore and would go back there in a heartbeat.

Go see them if you can when they tour Europe as they can still deliver the goods and it really might be the last time!

Nice review. Cool you weaseled your way into the VIP section!

Really excited for the Rome gig. Been looking for a good excuse to get to Italy, and a Stones gig in a unique venue that lines up perfectly with my Maiden plans is as good as it could get!

I was up in the air about Rome as I was sort of banking on Stockholm being when I could do it, and it looks I definitely made the right choice going for Rome. IORR is reporting a Stockholm gig on June 30th (Not confirmed yet), and while I could technically do that, it would be a scheduling nightmare for me. I'd have been flying from Stockholm to Bergen on the 27th, Bergen gig on the 28th, Bergen back to Stockholm on the 29th or 30th for the Stones, then Stockholm to Luxembourg on the 1st, which is also the day of the Maiden gig there. Definitely happy I chose Rome.
