New Buckethead Pikes Discussion

He's had an absolute mad flurry of releases, lately.

One way of discerning the cream of the crop is checking his bandcamp site: https://bucketheadpikes.bandcamp.com/ and scrolling through his pikes. Typically, any standout pikes have lots of supporters and they're leaving a string of compliments and praise in the comments section below the album. If you get familiar with it, it's clear. I typically give any new release a quick listen and I know pretty soon in if I'm going to purchase.

Failing that, just follow someone like Natter Net on YouTube!

My recent new favourite Pikes:

Journaling might be the best but Moon water is outrageous. No, Colouring of metals. Fuck it They're all fantastic.

This stuff is awesome. Loved a recent song, can't remember what called but it gave me elvis type vibe.

Hay, what happened with bucket, what's story of him leaving gnr?

So I was browsing bucketheadland pikes, and he has the #2 sale going on. Just pikes up 11 pikes for $23.00.  Been awhile since I've hit up one of his sales.

He should do bundles. Like a Pikes 1-25 set, a Pikes 25-50 set, etc... 'cause I know if I buy the whole discography, the next day there will be like 3 other pikes I didn't buy with a discount.

prob hitting a new york show but full band (especially brain) would take that from probably to definitely

It seems like he'll have a band, but it'll be a weird one. Madeline (the singer) is only gonna be doing a few songs with him. Brewer probably on bass again? No mention of a drummer...

Juno plays synths/electronic parts, apparently that's the same person as Netlag who appeared on pikes like this

Really looking forward to seeing him in Seattle next month.

I'm not crazy about Madeline as a singer, but some of their songs are pretty nice. One Man Party (track 9) and Suburban Ghost (track 3) are cool.

The tour starts in less than 2 weeks, really interested to see what the setlists are like and whether it will be 2 sets, or just Madeline guesting for a couple songs as was originally planned (they've released a bunch more music so maybe they'll play a longer set together?)

Well this tour is off to an interesting start, lol.

Turns out Bucket is basically his own opening act - he played to a backing track for the first hour or so, doing his classics. Then an intermission before the rest of the band comes out. Brewer is now on drums and Juno on bass.

They played about an hour and 40 minutes with Madeline and the band - a few classic rock covers and most of the new album Veins Of Institution. I haven't seen videos yet, but all the reviews I've read have slammed Madeline, and people seem pissed about the 'bait and switch' of buying a ticket for Buckethead but really getting a Buckethead & Friends show. Seems like there were a ton of issues at the first show, too, from monitors not working to Madeline seeming unprepared.

Still really looking forward to seeing them in Seattle, if nothing else this is gonna be a very unique Bucket tour...

Damn, I just watched the videos. She realllly doesn't sound good. I'm on the fence about buying tickets for Ardmore on Monday.

I can’t find any videos of bucket in 2024. Can someone here help me out?

This was his set with Madeline and the band... she sounds rough but hopefully improves over the next few shows. Really doesn't help that she's so high and dry in the mix...
