Nosaj Thing
Haven't listened to the entire album in around 2 weeks. Just found a new love for Shadow Life.Fuckin' kick-ass album!Love it when that happens! I think Dissident is the only song I don't really like.. And even that song has a good solo. One of the riffs is pretty cool too. I can really "Bent to Fly" being a huge fucking song.. It is time for a new fucking single and that needs to be it.I know, right? That's why I stopped listening to the album back to back.Bent to Fly is amazing. Myles voice works perfectly on that song.
wasted
Safari Inn is probably the one track I really like. It's like I don't know anyone else can get that vibe.

Rovim
Safari Inn is probably the one track I really like. It's like I don't know anyone else can get that vibe.I really like many tracks from WOF, but Safari Inn is just proof Slash can still add something to a Gn'R song that no one else can. Not even Ashba. Slash always had it, the problem is to harness that uncontroled improvisational skills. Slash said he just played a half an hour solo and they've used the best 3.5 minutes to create Safari Inn. (with the old riff from demo #16 - Sn'F)Hey! I've got an idea! Axl and his engineer dude are pretty good at editing iconic guitar players. May's Catcher solo is great. Why not kidnap Slash, blindfold his ass and Caram can man the station with the pro tools and Axl can use one of those cancer talk boxes and tell Slash when and how to play. It's not creepy if it's just for 3 or 4 songs. No public apology required. Victory or death! Edited October 9, 2014 by Rovim
wasted
It's kind of like No Catcher in the Quarter ft. Slash. If Axl rapped Atlas Shrugged as Slash riffed then went into a long dark pysche solo that would be a good demo to leak as promo fora reunion tour.

wasted
There would have to be a composite Dj n Slash solo on Berlin with a little middle 8th Bucket scale. That's a techinical term for I have one ukelele theory book.

I just hope Slash doesn't play over Robin's SRV solo.
eye2eye
I've listened to this album few Times and I have to admit that I am suprised much better then AL but It It is still pretty generic stuff. And I dont understand How decent songwriter like Myles Kennedy can write such lame lyrics Alter Bridge has some Great lyrics with soul and meaning and when working with Slash he writes thah generic lazy stuff albo his vocals dont quite match with Slash style he Sounds much better with Tremonti

Their sounds a bit more metal influenced, so maybe miles thinks those type of lyrics wouldn't fit with slashs style.
Tom-Ass
I think Myles sounds fucking killer on this record where it was hit and miss on AL....I haven't stopped listening to this album since it came out and haven't gotten sick of it yet... I have no issies with the lyrics either. I actually think they are pretty damn good...The only song I don't really like is "Dissident". Out of 17 songs, that's not to shabby!I also skipped "Safari Inn" for the first time this morning. It is cool for what it is and I liked it the first few times, but instrumentals don't really do it for me. I feel the same way about "Watch This". They just get boring after awhile. Nosaj Thing
And I dont understand How decent songwriter like Myles Kennedy can write such lame lyrics Alter Bridge has some Great lyrics with soul and meaning and when working with Slash he writes thah generic lazy stuffMaybe because he's saving the best of him for his principal band Alter Bridge? Who knows.I agree that Myles voice suits Tremonti better.

With Alter Bridge, I think Myles and Mark throws out whatever guitar ideas they have at each other and work together on putting the pieces of the puzzle of the song. With Myles and Slash, Slash has one of how many guitar ideas he has in his head that could become a song, and Myles fills the piece with whatever lyrics and melodies he thinks will fit the guitar idea and if he wants to add anything other guitar suggestions for it, that's an option.I think this article kinda explains it.http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/myles-kennedy-says-slash-and-alter-bridge-are-very-different-mindsets-for-him-musically/Kennedy also outlined the differences in the writing approaches between the two bands. He said: "It's a different process. The songwriting with Mark [Tremonti] and ALTER BRIDGE is… It's more like making a puzzle, where we stockpile a lot of different riffs and melodies and chord progressions, and we kind of set those aside and we go, 'Okay, I've got this riff. Do you have a chorus that goes with this or a riff that goes with this chorus? Whereas with Slash, he'll come in with a music bed and say, 'Okay, now put your melody and your lyric to this.' It's like you're handed a canvas to paint on. They are just totally different approaches, which I love."
