Yeah its not like the villains in the original trilogy were all played by Brits and the good guys were Americans or anything

James Earl Jones, that shining example of ye olde England.
He might have voiced Vader but David Prowse (Yorkshire) is the bloke behind the mask. All the other Imperials and the Emperor are Brits
You can't really count the guy in the suit who didn't read a line through.

Yikes. Who cares if it's a black guy?

And I hear that 'black guy' is a very very good actor. That's all I really give a shit about.

I think the issue with the black guy in the storm trooper outfit is less a racist thing and more to do with the fact that the clone troopers in the prequels were all the same guy who wasn't black.

Couldn't they have gotten a less "Mike Tyson, thuggish" looking black guy and more a sly devil like Lando Calrissian?

This guy looks like he needs to be in MMA, not Star Wars

He looks like a goddamn member of G-Unit.

Compared with the suavest guy in the whole series

Prowse did the lines, he was just overdubbed. He was under the impression that he'd be the unmasked Vader in ROTJ.

But it's a moot argument - not all Stormtroopers are clones, only the Clone Troopers in the prequels are all clones. Basically, once the Empire was established, citizens of planets under Imperial rule became part of the infantry, whether that happened through voluntary registration or a draft system isn't clear nor is it relevant. But if all Stormtroopers were meant to be clones, their lines would've been overdubbed for the DVD/BD releases like they did with Boba Fett - it's too obvious for Lucas to have overlooked unintentionally.

John Boyega is good looking, I wouldn't consider him "thuggish" by any means. And no, they're not gonna find someone who looks like Lando. You know why? Because it's not 1980 anymore. If someone starred in a film looking like that nowadays without it being a period piece, they wouldn't be taken seriously. The Burt Reynolds mustache is dead, along with that hairdo and the Star Wars equivalent of a leisure suit.

I wasn't talking about his attire, more just his look. Lando is handsome, he doesn't look scary, you know? Boyego looks tough, like a fighter.

And as far as the 'SW equivalent of a Leisure suit', this space...The fashions aren't supposed to reflect real life, like Leia's buns for example.
