Bono
This to me is unreal. I would NEVER have guessed that BB-8 was a practical effect and not simply CGI. My brain hurts trying to understand how this is even possible. Magnets? It seems to defy physics in a way. Regardless it's fucking awesome!

CheapJon
First time watching the trailer it didnt excite me nearly as much as the first. But after more viewings it has grows on me. Showed it to some kids at my job. Their reaction "can we see it again? That's Luke, that's han, wow! Please show it again"

Cosmo
I can't stop watching it. Star Wars steps all over any fictional movie franchise. It's gonna be too good. People are gonna cry like babies in premieres.

ZoSoRose
That trailer is fucking amazing. I've watched it 3 times already and I'm still grinning every time I get to the shot of Han and Chewie.I watched it about 10 times now. And I too grin every time when it get to Han and Chewie. Lol, I don't want to know how many times I've watched it
downzy
Though I highly doubt history will repeat itself in this case for a whole host of reasons, I do recall thinking way back in 1998 that the trailer for Phantom Menace looked awesome as well. We all know how that turned out.

OmarBradley
Trailer looks promising, but I'm holding my breath until I see the movie. It was a lot of action shots, I don't want SW to turn into Transformers.

We all know how that turned out. I remember how I felt when I saw TPM trailer for the first time. I had goosebumps at the opening with the Gungans walking through the mist and the ariel shot of naboo was amazing, Queen Amidala looked awesome, Darth Maul was wicked and the 2 vs 1 lightsaber battle was incredible. Howevere I do remember thinking how stupid I thought it was to see Anakin flyinga space shit at that age and also how stupid jar Jar looked hen he zapped his tongue. TPM trailer was a mix of awesome and shit and I remember feeling that way back in 1999. I can't see anything about the new trailer or even the first one that make me think lame let alone total shit. It all looks amazing to me so fingers crossed that's a sign of things to come.
Zeppelin
The TPM trailer didn't have Han, the Falcon, Luke, and a kickass variety of stormtroopers, so it's already a pointless comparison.
Val22
The new trailer is awesome! Just hearing Luke's voice and then seeing Chewy with Han Solo! It brought back such great memories of seeing the Star Wars movies back in the 70's and 80's.My granddaughter recently started loving Star Wars, so it'll be extra special seeing this new SW with her. I don't get that at all with this new trailer. They seem to be makinga real conscious effort to make thinsg as real looking as possible by using as many parctical effects as possible. I absolute hate the amount of CGI and bad CGI in the prequels.

I absolute hate the amount of CGI and bad CGI in the prequels.Wasn't trying to compare the two, as I did say there are many reasons why everyone should give this movie more faith. Just saying that for myself, and millions of other Star Wars fans, I remember feeling just as excited when I saw the TPM trailer for the first time only to be massively let down when the movie finally did come out (and even then, it took me a solid year before I could move past my cognitive dissonance and admit that the movie sucked). As Omar noted, I'm going to wait until the movie comes out. I'm not sure if just by having Han, Luke, and Leia that it guarantees a great movie. A New Hope and ROTJ both had all three and neither of those movies were all that great. Moreover, the main problems I had with TPM and its two follow ups weren't the special effects (though I agree they were too CGI dependent). Script, dialogue, directing, acting - all of them were terrible in Episodes one through three. Even if TPM had realistic and less CGI dependent special effects the movie would still be terrible. I like Abrams as a movie maker (thought Super 8 was fantastic) so I'll bet he'll do a great job. I'm cautiously excited at this point. I like Abrams as a movie maker (thought Super 8 was fantastic) so I'll bet he'll do a great job. I'm cautiously excited at this point. I never said you were. I was simply giving my input on how I felt about TPM trailer at the time and why I feel this trailer is different/better. I wasn't as excited or overwhelmed by TPM trailer as I was by this one. I don't see anything that bugs me in this one and it all seems incredibly awesome whereas there was quite a bit of crap mixed in with cool stuff in TPM trailer. I agree with you about the prequels though as far as the movies go. The story, dialogue, acting, script, etc. all of it was just terrible. I wasn't talking about the movies though. I was talking only about the trailer which all we had to go on was the visuals and stuff. My excitement for the Force Awakens is even higher than it was for The Phantom Menace because the trailer is just incredible. TPM trailer was merely not bad and I do remember going into that movie with some doubts. Not so much this time around...... at least not yet. Powerage5
Just to analyze the trailer compared to what MSW reported (I'm bolding what was accurate, and striking what wasn't. Anything ambiguous I'm leaving alone):Trailer description from makingstarwars.net (they were right about the first trailer)The teaser runs at about a one minute and fifty seconds, just under two minutes. Han, Leia, Artoo and Threepio We do see Yavin in the teaser. We see a shot of Finn with a blue lightsaber. There is a shot of Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), the chrome Stormtrooper, very briefly. We do see Kylo Ren’s helmeted face. We see Poe Dameron shoot down a TIE fighter. A shot of Finn and Poe walking past one another at the base. Rey is in a few shots. There is a shot of Poe Dameron, Artoo-Detoo, See-Threepio, and a CGI character (Rose). BB-8 socketed in the back of an X-wing. Kylo Ren’s Imperial shuttle flys by with TIE escorts to the Star Destroyer (it is the one MakingStarWars.net wrote about) Star Destroyer(s) The Falcon X-wing fighters flying in a V-shape formation. Darth Vader’s helmet sitting on a podium. (Not on a podium, but close enough) no Serkis. No Luke. They also said a teaser poster will be out this month.Pretty split between what was accurate, what wasn't, and what was ambiguous.
