I do audio engineering and I also produce music for bands in nyc, and I'd not tolerate even one tiny bit of this horseshit. Axl hasn't been about "making music" since the UYI era. dalsh327 Posted March 7, 2015 Share Posted March 7, 2015 Santa Monica sounded like an expensive music school but it sounded valuable in what they picked up, and you'll never see anything like that happen in rock again, the tools and recording techniques are something seasoned musicians can do from home, and if they need a studio, they have a lot of the work done. Then it's about atmosphere of the room and engineers and producers putting their heads together.Some people don't want to give up on their old ways of making music so there will always be a need for studios. It might be down to movie studios being all that's left of recording studios, or The Palms only because that's part of the hotel. As far as the stories, most of his bitching was centered around Rock in Rio but there was a lot riding on that show, he didn't even get into the 2002 cancellations which is where you saw a lot of fans give up on GNR because it was 'more of the same old shit'. He's also not going to badmouth bandmates that he spent years with and then run into them later having to hear "why did you say this about me?" This is a guy, Axl, who has riders hand discs of what his so called 'band' are doing, only for him to communicate on the phone with them 30 mins later. This is the genius Axl method of, ''how to make an album''. This is a guy who couldn't even be bothered to turn up to rehearsals for his first big show in eight years, only to arrive hours later and watch everything from a settee without saying a word. The guy is a fruit loop. He makes Michael Jackson look like a normal geezer you would go to the pub with. No wonder musicians leave this band at an incredible rate. Once you would be in the same room as Axl, you would shrink back just like everyone else and just pander to him. Also, "Axl hasn't been about "making music" since the UYI era"that's total bull, he may not have released a lot of new music but he has wrote and recorded tons of songs, at least that's what everyone in and out of the GnR camp has said... unless you know something more than the people who are around him daily or know him in a working environment. Don't get me wrong I look forward to the day we get new music from him and I think he's one of the most naturally talented singers in history, but he stays interesting because there are so many stories about what makes Axl...Axl.
