Slash says "never say never" over return to classic-era lineup

As much as some hate the Vegas shows or think they a sign of something terrible, they were kind of successful. They are kind of more of a fun thing, not as heavy and serious as past GNR tours. It's not a bad thing.

Maybe. But would U2, Foo Fighters, Metallica or other bands like that do them?

Probably not.

Why?

They don't fucking need to.

GNR obviously do.

That's the sad bit.

You can't exclusively play russian weddings. Gotta spice shit up. Flying pianos and strippers and they can chill for a week and make some money.

I don't know GNR don't seem as classy those bands. GNR seems like a good soundtrack to gambling away your life savings.

I think some other bands have played Vegas. Motely and Def Leppard. Turn around bitch but no we too good for Vegas.

Ashba is in the band. Anything goes.

My way, your way, anything for the money.

I just think Bono, Metallica and that other band are much more righteous. I don't really see them as a party. My lifestyle determines my death style, now lets get some cocktails.

Maybe the penny has dropped, and Axl has woken up to the fact, Gn'R simply isn't Gn'R without Slash. Maybe the Slash Axl combo could happen one more time :)

People need to lay off drugs , it'll never happen

I think you are 100% correct here. Bands that were once stadium acts but can't consistently fill arena's anymore seem to turn to Vegas for residencies as it seems like an easy gig and I am guessing the casinos take good care of them and pay big money just to have the entertainment to draw people to the casinos.

Santana has a semi permanent residency there and also does regular World tours in between the residencies. As a headliner he can't fill big arena's anymore so I am betting he makes a nice chunk of change working Vegas.

I saw him a few years ago co headlining with the Allman Brothers and his band is amazing so it is a nice concert for anyone going to Vegas.

Wonder what Eddie Trunk heard that made him think a reunion was being worked out behind the scenes. Really does seem like the only thing in GNR's future besides dying quietly.

I'm waiting for the messageboard to post:

Axl Rose says never say never to a GNR original lineup reunion!

But I know that ain't going to happen anytime soon.

Meanwhile, I'm still thinking!

And why Axl won´t address the issue anytime soon? That´s the problem here. He holds the key to put all this debate to rest once and for all. He could do 2 things

1 Get the nu GN´R together, make another album and tour again

2 Since he loves to talk on twitter about Indonesia and PPV Boxing. He could take 5 minutes to issue a statement saying there will never be a reunion.

You may say Axl is wating until this debate is cooling off. But guess what? Next month somehow is gonna come up again, and the following month and so on. Axl has to understand he must show his cards, the sooner the better

I have always said I wouldn't care for a reunion. Actually, against it. I believed that Axl had a great vision with the nu gnr. As we know he has wasted years of potential. We all know the 02/06/10 lineup could of been magic on multiple records. I for one think CD is a brilliant album! I still think a reunion won't happen. But, if it did I would take that over what we have now, NOTHING! My concern would be if Slash would be up and want to play the CD songs. If hell froze over again and a reunion could possibly happen, no Adler. I'm sorry, but I can't stand the guy. He probably would OD by the 1st week of the tour. Bring back Brain or keep Frank. And let's be real, the world would still consider it a reunion without Adler. All they want is Axl and Slash.

Axl is not going to mellow out or erase the meaning he has sought over the last fifteen years anytime soon... he persists in his clunky, peculiar way and we will get another record by 2020 and it'll be superb and weird and we'll lament the might've been's from new GNR regardless, the tophat will never return, maybe as a guest appearance in south america at some point but he'll never impose himself upon what GNR is actively ever again, too many brambles and associations to tar Axl's horizon and emotions that still revolve around what the band and message has evolved into.

For some reason this announcement feels different i.e. "we all got sick of the black cloud"..... never saw the all inclusive term from Slash before this.

Duff toured with Axl, that shit is huge really, when you think about the fact that in VR Duff agreed with Slash in interviews that they were shown no respect by Axl.

That fence has obviously been mended.

How much of a stretch is it to believe that Axl & Duff got into the Slash situation also and that maybe just maybe this sober, kind, articulate gentleman that is Duff opened Axl's mind on the issue.

Something massive happened to Axl recently, he's shelved his next album with the band and scattered them to the wind. We hear nothing from Team Nosferatu these days either.

For once there have been movements on both sides that indicate some disturbance in the status-quo. 99% chance it will come to nothing but what the fuck else is there to do except have some fun speculating?
