Matt and Axl got together here in New York and mended fences after that interview. They partied together here. I remember Matt talking about it - and being happy that they had put their differences behind them. So, something else must have happened since then. I didn't realize that. Whatever the reason is, damn shame...it should be Matt over Frank imo.
prez
Maybe this has been addressed, but which version of KOHD did they play? I saw the clip on Instagram but it was only a few seconds long, so I couldn't tell. One of the reviews mentioned that "Slash played some of the parts differently" - was this one of them? Vic Sage
I think it would be fitting that we get GnR unplugged for the anniversary of AFD.Imagine that to top off this return?

Popular Post madison
1 hour ago, ShadowOfTheWave said: Just a year later he was back to talking shit about Axl: "Axl is so jealous of our band," Sorum told Rolling Stone, adding that his encounter with the singer at a New York party ended up being friendly. "Even though he's going out with his GUNS N' ROSES fucking bullshit, he's just fucking jealous and he's trying to tear us down. Fuckin' Slash is out playing rock 'n' roll and he [Axl] don't like it. It's sad." Article is from Blabbermouth, but I can't get links to work on here anymore. Article's name is: Velvet Revolver's Matt Sorum: Axl Rose is so jealous of our band Yep that would do it. Lol Good find. As for people who claim Axl just brought in Slash and Duff to "replace" band members who had left - and that Slash and Duff wouldn't feel comfy suggesting Axl toss aside the remaining "replacements" - that's ridiculous. Slash and Duff aren't just "replacements" or Axl's "hired hands." These are the guys who created the music that made GNR the biggest band on the planet. This whole tour - which is being booked in stadiums - is being billed as a "reunion" tour. That's right - a REUNION tour where people will see the real GNR reunite for the first time in 23 years. So, I just think that if you're going to promote this as a true reunion - then I don't think it should be done halfway or - excuse the expression - half-assed. Go all the way. All the original members are (miraculously) still alive and ALL wanted to be part of this reunion. There's just no excuse for them not to be there. If you want to add a few of the replacement members to play on some CD songs, fine. But only AFTER the original lineup is in place. Most diehard fans - who have followed the band from day one - would tell you their wet dream is to see a REAL reunion with the original lineup - possibly with Matt and Steven alternating on drums the way they did at the Rock Hall of Fame. Frank? No thanks. I'm hoping last night's show was just a warm-up - and that we will see Izzy, Stevie and perhaps Matt during the tour. Don't get me wrong. I'm thrilled - ecstatic - to see Axl, Slash and Duff sharing a stage again. It gave me chills just watching those short clips. But ultimately, I hope it's a full reunion by the time the band pulls into New York this summer.

supercool
well said madison, steven and izzy are necessary, something is missing without them. i wasn't 100% satisfied with the troubadour line-up. some of the magic wasn't there. Popular Post gunsguy
I fail to see this tour "being billed as a "reunion" tour" Where did anyone say that? The same people complaining are the ones who say Steven or Matt, well which one is it exactly? Which version of the band. This goes on and on, never ends. In the 90's they sold out tours for years no one was bitching about Adler not in the band. (we did see where's Izzy) Now we are not even sure what we want in the lineup. The tour is promoting Axl, Slash and Duff and I do not see anything about a reunion tour unless you are seeing articles about it, in that case it would be your own fault for being let down or led to believe something else Edited April 3, 2016 by gunsguy
killuridols
Uh. Sorry, the press release never said reunion. It said regrouping. I don't know why people are in so much denial. Steven and Izzy ain't coming back.

Not being silly here, can you link me to a GN'R promotion saying otherwise? Edited April 3, 2016 by gunsguy

It's pretty straight forward. This is why they had Stevie and Matt alternate drumming - and neither had any problem with that scenario.

Granted however I fail to see how the Rock hall has anything to do with promotion of this tour, or am I missing something? God knows I am a longtime fan would be cool to see some old guys join in absolutely but that was not promoted as such. You stated they are promoting this tour as a reunion and they have not been at all... I will give you an example. I bought tickets to an upcoming show, good seats for $125.00 back in 2006 I paid $99.75 to see the 2006 version without Slash/Duff. Do you suspect I am under any illusions a full reunion would only be $25 over the price of the band I saw in 2006?
