It's weird. GNR ist axls Life and probably passion. Yet he doesn't seem to care to invest more into it than he needs to make it work. Never goes the extra mile. That's some poor work ethic

I agree. Pretty much his whole career can be described like that, didn't make the extra effort, just caused problems.

I’m not intending to. I’m fully vaccinated and not within a high risk group.

That said, people who want to mask up should absolutely do it without a second thought. Everyone’s circumstances are different, so if you feel more comfortable in a mask, go for it.

I was thinking of going to the MetLife show maskless. My childhood friend and I are both fully vaccinated. Now that you brought this up, I may bring my mask with me just in case.

Thanks for the input all. I am going to monitor how things develop over the next couple weeks. COVID is rising in all 50 states, LA reissued its indoor mask mandate starting today, and others will likely follow. There is still so much unknown about COVID, these new mutations, and the efficacy of the vaccine against the delta variant. A lot of conflicting info from reliable sources (e.g., is a 3rd shot necessary?)

If I wear one, which I probably will, I hope I don’t get shit for from some drunk asshole at the show.  Have pit tickets to Metlife

That’s not accurate. Axl was once one of the most driven artists on the planet. Axl put a 100% into GNR. You don’t where Axl is without a 100% effort. Not to mention his life performances, which are second to none in rock history.

Guess it depends on your definition of effort. Nobody should accuse him of half-assing his live performances back in the day.

Vaccine is good against Delta, from what I've been told.

He didn't do it completely on his own though. Without the other guys he wouldn't have gotten there.

That's true, I was referring more to after 1993 and into the 2000s. However, he was still causing problems back then too.

Vaccine greatly reduces risk of death and hospitalization from covid. It’s efficacy in preventing infection is not as high. The rates are TBD, but Israel was spooked enough to start third shots and Pfizer is pushing it as well.

Also, lots of folks who were vaccinated are getting it, including prominent politicians (even the UK’s health minister).

If this continues to accelerate, I could see these outdoor shows requiring a vaccine. Candidly I think it’s absurd that they haven’t done this already.

A lot of shows now are requiring vaccine, and more are going to be announcing that if they haven't already.

He caused a ton of problems. But I also think he spoke the truth when he said his mental illness was bad enough that he should not have been allowed to be a touring artist in those days. People around him just wanted the cash cow. It led to a lot of chaos.

I spend a lot of time on YouTube for content these days. Starting yesterday, nearly ad that played before and during videos was for the GN'R show in Detroit in a few weeks.

I'm guessing the $29/ticket 4 packs didn't end up selling, so now they have to do an ad blitz to hopefully move tickets.

I feel like I'm about a week away from seeing free tickets via the casinos / stadium adjacent businesses.

YouTube huh? Maybe if there was some live GNR videos on YouTube they could REALLY target the people who are, ya know, interested in seeing GNR live :rofl-lol:

I don't understand, on Ticketmaster for my show it's still the same prices as before but you're saying the Detroit ones are already marked down?

Detroit tickets have been marked down for a month now. You can get a 4pk of upper level seats for $29 each.

They'll go lower or end up at free. So I'm just waiting it out until I pay next to nothing or exactly nothing to see the show.

So are certain shows marked down but not others yet?

Oh I see that Detroit isn't going through Ticketmaster, maybe that's why.

Probably not front of stage tix, however, I wish tix were a bit cheaper in Europe. Over here it's around 150 euros min unless you're fine with watching them on a big screen from way back. Front of stage tix are 250 - 350 depending on the venue.

I miss those days when all you had to do to get in the front rows was being there early enough. No cell phones, meeting actual fans and everything was about the music and having a good time. Today it's all see and be seen, not worth my time or money.

I guess they will hand out tix soon enough (giveaways, radio stations) to fill the empty seats.

My days of needing to be anywhere close to a stage are far behind me lol. Uppse deck for free or close to free is fine by me, especially for a band like GN'R that I've seen so many times already.

I really wish GNR would have posponed this tour until next year. I have tickets for the September 1 Dallas show and I will wear a mask, but I really don't feel comfortable at it.  How will I know who is vaccinated or not? Dallas numbers are up, so who knows?

Even vaccinated people are getting the delta strain now. it's not as bad but I don't want to get sick at all or God forbid bring it to my daughter.

I think too many things opened up too quickly again.

AA venue in Dallas had live WWE last night and no one in the crowd had masks on and there were plenty of kids there. This is the venue I will be seeing GNR so I hope they clean it well.

I hear you. Never do Pit and $700 for front row was too damn high for me. I got tickets in section 107 which is close enough to see okay. I'm still not sure this is a good idea but i won't miss GNR, so I'll hope for the best.

Hope we are all safe to enjoy GNR in concert and stay that way.

I went to the Foo Fighters show last month at MSG that was supposed to be no entry without vaccination.  It was a joke, they looked at your card prior to entering the building, but they just glance at it for a few seconds and don't ask to match the card up with your ID.  You could show them a photocopy of one and it'd be no problem, although that would be a dick move.  I had GA floor, maybe 1 out of 50 were wearing masks, mostly older people.

The price for MetLife tickets on ticketmaster are dirt cheap and keep dropping.  Pretty much every section looks to have available seats including the PIT.

I've been to 7 shows (first being in 91).  l feel embarrassed for the band that they only seem to have sold 50-60% of tickets for a NYC metro show with fans not having been to concerts in 18+ months.  Personally, I've been keeping my eye on PIT tickets as they can dropping on price, now around $350 including fees on StubHub, but hesitating to pull the trigger.  If it's the same exact show that I've already seen 3 times, and I imagine Axl will still be out of shape and worse voice, which I'm sure it is, my money could be spent better on other events.  They need to give fans some reason to see them..  bring back Izzy or Steven.. that would be enough to fill that stadium.

A band like U2 would sell that place out in minutes.

Sales for Metlife look pretty brutal.  So many tickets on there now for $29.  I think most people thought the stadiums were ambitious, some of the smaller ones look OK but the bigger stadiums look terrible sales wise.

Interesting to see what Axl looks and sounds like.
