Francis Ford Coppola is finally going to release his Megalopolis passion project that he started in 1983. So I guess there's hope for everything 😄

Wow, FFC's journey to make Megalopolis seems to be eerily similar to the journey WAR used to make Chinese Democracy.

This never ending speculation about which old ass chinese leftover turd may or may not be released someday is sooo lame and boring at this point, fucking hell! XD

For real, I can't remember who it was, but somebody on here coined the phrase "ancient song titles" once and I have been using it ever since.

It would be a massive flop, that's for sure.

A "new" album by Guns would probably do pretty well, especially promoted reasonably. Probably at least as successful as the previous Guns album in 2008, if they promote it well enough, of course. At worst, it would underperform, but be far from a flop. Guns is like Star Wars, they could release blank CDs and still sell people on it because of the brand alone.

Regardless of the content itself (most likely CD2 stuff, reworked with the current lineup in part or whole) they will probably market it as the first album by the band since TSI, or CD, depending on how they want to spin it. They can't say original lineup, or even the "classic" lineup since Izzy and Steven are mostly out of the picture.

At the very least, I hope they mix and master it reasonably well. I miss the days where we only had to worry about how many Bucket parts Bumble recorded over. Now, it's so much worse. Because on top of some uninspired playing by Slash on top of these songs (can't blame him for that, they simply are not his songs) we also have to worry about awful production, as indicated by The General, and Hard Skool. Perhaps was produced reasonably well, Absurd, not too bad but to a lesser extent.

We would have had CD II years ago if it wasn't for the cash grab reunion.

Possibly....suppose by necessity....touring wouldn't be possible beyond theaters without some kinda product to promote and serious pushes...weird to think! I actually truly thought Slash returning would really speed up NEW music 😂

It seems to be a trend for people to assume only the songs that have leaked or been released are the ones that had vocals finished. Aside of what bandmembers have said, for all we know there could be a dozen or more songs completed, with vocals. We do know in 2006 Axl said they were working on 32 songs, 26 being nearly done. In 2014 he said the remix album and the second part of Chinese have been recorded for a long time, AND they were working on material subsequent to Chinese.

At the very least, I'd say Guns has half a dozen additional songs completed with vocals, and has had them for many, many years. Examples of possible titles would be Tonto, Monstrocity, Cuban Skies, Berlin. Seven, he probably finished Quick Song (assuming it doesn't exist as Monstrocity) same with Zodiac, etc.

Yea...finished as in first run vocals and work in progress...there's a lot of repeat verse and chorus twice on what we've had so far, so hopefully he's left a bunch of 'big guns' that are more fleshed out ...not logical to put these 4 out first if you have better ya say? Well this band (Axl) is random and not logical....they have put out these 4 while "Monsters" remaina not out ....despite the initial obvious plan to have had it released in 2023....

Massive flop if they released it on a mass scale, but a limited run would be bought by completeists and it wouldn't cost much to get it loaded on to streaming services. The way it is now those songs have been released and are now buried unless you know to look for them. As much as Axl might dislike promotion etc.I can't imagine the life he hoped for these songs was to be released without people knowing.

Obviously it wouldn't be a replacement for a brand new album of Slash/Axl/Duff songs legitimately written and recorded since the reunion.

Lol. We would have nothing at all. Probably not even Las Vegas Residencies.

Axl had more than enough time to release anything he’d like but he didn’t. Him not calling Slash for a reunion would mean 4 songs less than what you’ve got now.

Say what you like, GNR fans across the board have one unique thing in common: no matter what era, what guitarist, or what style you're rooting for, you're universally bound to be an expert in making excuses as to why the band hasn't released an album (and definitely would have if there hadn't been for xyz). :D

yea, we had SOOOO much before that very successful tour.  An album that took way to long, no promo, and playing it to venues with 7000 people watching a cover band play the hits.  no thanks!

I would have rather seen Axl stick it out with nu GNR and release CD II than the corporate endless cash grab reunion tour that we ended up getting. Cash grab reunion tour was worse case scenario. Anything would have been more interesting than that.

Again, the reunion isn’t the reason we didn’t get CD II.

Nu GNR started dying in 2011/2012 is my guess, Bumblefoot became increasingly very off with Guns from then to 2015. The cracks were there and when Duff joined for 2014 I believe that was the final nail in the coffin for that band. I’m not saying Mr Foot was the only reason but there was clearly some problems behind the scenes

No kidding, Chinese Democracy being the main/first single for the 2008 album was a poor choice, and Absurd being the first officially released track since 2008 (not counting SOYL)

And... guess which lineup sounded better? Also, experiencing a better show with a smaller audience in a smaller venue is something I prefer.

Sure, it's cool seeing and hearing Slash and Duff back, and I have seen the last CD-era lineup twice and the NITL lineup twice.  All great shows regardless.

Yeah he said that in that interview with Rock Antenne.
